Twill silk scarf picturing found hair elastics from the streets of Amsterdam.
"Amsterdam scarf was created by combining elastics similar to the rows of the narrow houses along the canals. The plan of the city follows the shape of those canals (Herengracht, Keizergracht, Prinsengracht, Singel) I decided to reflect that in a squared shape of the scarf that eventually turns into a more round shape in the center. Just like the city itself."
Twill silk is a type of textile weaves with a pattern of diagonal parallel ribs. This is done by passing the thread over one or more warp threads and then under two or more warp threads and so on, with a "step" between rows to create the characteristic diagonal pattern.
